Almere City won 1-0 at home against FC Volendam in the Dutch second-tier Eerste Divisie, with Enzo Cornelisse scoring the only goal, moving to within three points of leaders Heracles Almelo, who drew 2-2 at Helmond Sport. Third-placed MVV Maastricht lost 4-1 at bottom side TOP Oss, with Mauresmo Hinoke scoring a hat-trick, leaving MVV three points behind Almere City alongside FC Emmen, who drew 1-1 at RKC Waalwijk. The results matter in the promotion race, as the top of the table tightens in a league where the leading sides compete for a place in the Eredivisie, the Netherlands' top flight.
