Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has expressed confidence in his side's bowling attack as the team prepares to face Bangladesh in the first of a two-match Test series, beginning in Mirpur on 8 May. The series carries added significance for Pakistan, who were whitewashed 2–0 by Bangladesh on home soil in August 2024, and Masood acknowledged the challenge of competing in Bangladesh's conditions while emphasising that taking 20 wickets would remain the key to success. There is, however, some uncertainty in the visitors' camp, with star batsman Babar Azam undergoing a fitness scan after training, leaving his availability for the series opener unconfirmed.
