A Suzuki Bolan van carrying schoolchildren aged four to 14 veered off the road and caught fire near Bara Hotar Link Road in Murree (a hill resort town in Pakistan's Punjab province) on Tuesday, injuring 11 pupils, police said. Eight were reported stable, while three suffered severe burns covering 26 to 42 per cent of their bodies; the cause is still unknown. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sought a report, citing vehicle overloading and inadequate fire safety, in the latest of several school-van accidents in Pakistan this year.
