The European Union exported 3.2 billion litres of alcoholic beer to non-EU countries in 2025, an 11% drop compared with the previous year, according to figures from Eurostat (the EU's statistical agency). Belgium led EU member states in total beer exports at 1.5 billion litres, ahead of the Netherlands and Germany, while France was the bloc's largest importer, receiving 0.9 billion litres. The data was released to mark International Beer Day, observed annually on the first Friday of August.
