Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić (39-time Ballon d'Or winner and former Real Madrid stalwart) is set to sign a one-year contract extension with Italian club AC Milan, with the deal expected to be finalised this week. The agreement will keep him at the club until June 2027 on a reported annual salary of €3.5 million (approximately $3.8 million) plus bonuses, just weeks before he turns 41. Modrić, who had previously left his future uncertain amid retirement speculation ahead of the 2026 World Cup, made 37 appearances in his debut season at Milan, contributing two goals and three assists.
