Violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank is escalating sharply, with attacks on residents, vehicles and emergency workers recorded across multiple governorates. In the Nablus and Bethlehem areas, six Palestinians were injured in a single day, including two paramedics whose ambulance was stoned while responding to casualties near Bethlehem. Palestinian monitors have recorded more than 11,000 Israeli settler and military attacks across the West Bank since January, and since October 2023 at least 1,182 Palestinians have been killed in the territory, with nearly 25,000 arrested and roughly 13,000 injured. Beyond direct physical attacks, Palestinians are losing land through legal and administrative mechanisms that critics describe as systematically dispossessing communities. Near Sebastia — an ancient hilltop site in the northern West Bank with significant remains from Jewish, Roman, Crusader and Ottoman eras — Israeli authorities are expropriating approximately 450 acres of Palestinian-owned agricultural land to create what they call the 'Samaria' national park. Residents like olive farmer Abu Mudif say they receive little or no compensation and describe the loss in deeply personal terms.
