Jaan Roose, a 34-year-old Estonian three-time slackline world champion, crossed a 160-metre line strung 120 metres above central Seoul between a hotel and a media building near the Gwanghwamun area (the capital's historic civic heart, beside Gyeongbokgung palace). Organisers billed the lunchtime walk as South Korea's first high-altitude slackline performance, and he sat, lay down and dangled from the line to gasps from the crowd below. Roose said he was inspired by jultagi, Korea's UNESCO-listed traditional tightrope art, on a 2022 visit.
