Armenia and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement to route internet traffic through each other's territories, marking a significant step in the ongoing peace process between the two South Caucasus nations, which fought a series of conflicts over the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The deal, struck between state operators Telecom Armenia and AzerTelecom, is designed to diversify regional connectivity routes and strengthen the resilience of telecommunications infrastructure across the Eurasian corridor. The agreement comes alongside growing practical cooperation, with hundreds of tonnes of fertilisers recently transiting Azerbaijan to reach Armenia, part of a broader pattern of trade flows that has seen thousands of tonnes of fuel, grain, and other goods cross between the former rivals in recent months.
