Prada opened Milan Fashion Week with a bold all-skirt collection — no trousers, no dresses — designed by co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, who have shared the helm of the Italian luxury house for six years. The 63-look show featured A-line and pleated skirts in materials ranging from leather and silk to embroidered tulle, worn variously with lace bras, sweaters, or shirts. Miuccia Prada said skirts, unlike dresses, allow for contrast and contradiction in personal expression, and analysts expect the look to filter quickly into mainstream retail.
