Dutch football executive Dennis te Kloese will become sporting director of Club de Futbol Monterrey (one of Mexico's largest clubs) from 1 July, following his departure as general and technical director of Rotterdam side Feyenoord. Te Kloese, 51, said he received more than a handful of serious approaches from clubs in the Premier League, the United States, and Mexico within 72 hours of his exit being announced in late April, ultimately choosing to return to a country where his wife and two daughters were born. Monterrey's futuristic 53,000-seat stadium — nicknamed De Stalen Reus, or The Steel Giant — is set to serve as one of three World Cup venues in Mexico this summer, underscoring the club's global profile.
