Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva led a large rally on São Paulo's Avenida Paulista on Sunday to relaunch his campaign for the October 25 runoff, in which he trails Senator Flávio Bolsonaro 45% to 49% in the latest Datafolha poll (a statistical tie at the margin of error). With almost no undecided voters, Lula's Workers' Party is targeting the roughly 33 million Brazilians who skipped the first round, while Bolsonaro, backed by two former rival candidates, has urged supporters not to relax. The race matters because no candidate who placed second in the first round has won a runoff since direct presidential elections returned in 1989.
