Chad has accused the Sudanese military of carrying out an airstrike on a fuel market close to the two countries' shared border, killing at least 12 people and wounding seven others. A Chadian security source said the strike hit a location used by the RSF (Rapid Support Forces, the paramilitary group fighting Sudan's army in an ongoing civil war) to refuel, and comes days after Chad similarly blamed Sudan for a strike on a Chadian military convoy more than 100 kilometres inside its territory. Sudan's Foreign Ministry denied deliberately targeting Chadian soil, while the US embassy in Khartoum condemned the strikes and backed Chad's account — a significant diplomatic signal as the broader Sudanese conflict, now in its third year, has displaced nearly one million people into Chad.
