At least three people have died and four others were injured after a vehicle struck an elephant in Murchison Falls National Park (a large wildlife reserve in northwestern Uganda) on Sunday evening. The car was carrying seven officials from the Uganda Revenue Authority and was travelling from Arua city to the capital, Kampala, when the collision occurred. The incident highlights growing tensions between expanding human communities and wildlife habitats, with the Ugandan Wildlife Authority urging motorists to drive cautiously through protected areas where animals frequently cross roads.
