A helicopter carrying eight people crashed in the Sekadau district of Indonesian Borneo (Kalimantan), killing all aboard, including two crew members and six passengers. The aircraft had taken off from a palm oil plantation in the Melawi district and was heading to another plantation in Kubu Raya when it sent a distress signal about an hour into the flight; contact was lost 30 minutes later. Rescue teams recovered the wreckage in steep, difficult terrain late in the evening, and authorities confirmed that one of the victims held Malaysian nationality, with bodies transferred to a hospital for identification.
