A Greek-American couple was attacked with a knife on Tuesday morning at the entrance to the Acropolis (the ancient hilltop citadel and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Athens) by a man believed to have psychological problems. The assailant, reported to be around 60 years old, wounded the woman lightly on the hand and inflicted more serious injuries to the man's leg before motorcycle police quickly arrived, applied a tourniquet, and detained the attacker. Both victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
