A study by AI search analytics firm Peec AI found that major AI platforms, including ChatGPT and Google's AI Overview, reference Reform UK leader Nigel Farage more frequently than any other British political figure when responding to queries about UK politics. Testing over 5,000 structured prompts across topics such as immigration, healthcare and crime — generating more than 280,000 data points — the research found that Reform UK appeared in 88% of Google AI Overviews, while Prime Minister Keir Starmer appeared in just 11% of ChatGPT responses. Researchers suggest Reform UK's unusually high visibility may stem from its aggressive social media strategy of mass-posting repetitive comments, since AI models are known to favour information that appears frequently online, raising concerns about the potential for political manipulation of AI-generated information.
