US President Donald Trump said on Sunday he would look into declassifying records that could illuminate Saudi Arabia's alleged role in the 11 September 2001 attacks, following appeals from victims' families on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. Speaking before boarding Air Force One during a trip to Ireland, Trump said he would review the request upon returning to Washington, after families formally asked him on Friday to release the documents. Fifteen of the 19 hijackers were Saudi nationals, and relatives — including Terry Strada, who lost her husband in the attacks — have long accused successive US administrations of shielding Riyadh, while the Saudi government continues to deny any involvement.
