Marloes Oldenburg, who won gold in the coxless four at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has announced she is returning to competitive rowing less than two years after retiring from elite sport. The 38-year-old Dutch rower said she had been inspired by stepping in for the women's eight in June, describing the comeback as "terrifying, but above all: really exciting." Her target is the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, with national selection trials already scheduled for December.
