India and Canada have launched a joint Trade and Investment Forum designed to connect business leaders from both countries and foster new commercial partnerships. The announcement came after a three-day visit to Canada by Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, who met with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu and held talks with business leaders. The two governments also reaffirmed their commitment to concluding a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) — a broad bilateral free trade deal — by the end of 2026, with Canada planning to lead a trade mission to India later this year.
