Martín Insaurralde, a former cabinet chief of Buenos Aires province, has asked a federal court to exclude from evidence a video showing his ex-wife, television host Jesica Cirio, handling large stacks of US dollars in the closet of their former shared home. His defence argues the footage was obtained through hacking and may have been digitally altered, making its chain of custody too unreliable to certify authenticity — a motion mirroring one Cirio had already filed. The move comes as preliminary forensic findings reportedly point to the video being genuine, with investigators focusing on a property in the Fincas de San Vicente gated community as the likely recording location; an accounting review aimed at establishing the origin of the funds was expected to conclude in mid-July. Both Insaurralde and Cirio face travel restrictions while the illicit enrichment and money laundering case — which was revived after the video's publication in June — remains in the evidence-gathering stage.
