Dutch first-division (Keuken Kampioen Divisie) leaders Heracles suffered their first defeat of the season on Friday, losing 2-1 to Almere City after seven unbeaten matches. Defender Martin Wasinski scored a fine long-range effort in the 80th minute to settle the contest, exploiting a late-game pattern that Heracles coach Vincent Heilmann had himself identified beforehand — that 80 percent of Almere's goals come in the final half-hour. Despite the loss, Heracles retain top spot in the Dutch second tier.
