Heino (87), a beloved German schlager (traditional German popular music) singer, has filed a lawsuit against an AfD candidate who used his name in a regional election campaign without authorisation. Felix Teichner, a candidate from the Uckermark district of Brandenburg, posted on social media that "Heino is voting for Felix on Sunday," riffing on the lyrics of one of Heino's well-known songs. Heino's lawyer is seeking a court injunction and €250,000 in damages, saying a promise by Teichner to remove the post is insufficient given the risk he could repeat the stunt.
