Pakistan's Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has rejected an opposition plan to stage a long march from Peshawar to the capital, Islamabad, on 27 September, calling instead for talks to resolve political disputes. PPP Secretary General Nayyer Hussain Bukhari warned that frequent marches severely disrupt citizens' daily lives and economic activity, citing past unrest on dates such as 9 May and 26 November as examples of ordinary people bearing the cost of political confrontation. He urged both the government and the opposition to pursue dialogue through constitutional and democratic means rather than street agitation.
