A second Sudanese national has been placed in isolation at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad (a city in the greater Hyderabad metropolitan area, southern India) after developing a fever during a quarantine period, with samples sent for Ebola testing as a precautionary measure. The 23-year-old student, who had travelled from Uganda to Hyderabad for educational purposes, was initially held under yellow fever surveillance protocols before being transferred to the hospital after symptoms emerged. The development follows a separate case earlier this week in which another Sudanese traveller was isolated after a fever was detected at Hyderabad's international airport, though that individual subsequently tested negative.
